Laurie Nelson is the Executive Director at Christopher Heights of Webster, an assisted living community. She has a master’s degree in Human Services Management and she is also an adjunct professor at Quinsigamond Community College where she has taught Gerontology for seventeen years, as well as various courses in Human Development, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, and Career Planning. She is also a certified life coach and has worked with clients to help them succeed personally and professionally.
Maxine Carter-Lome is the Owner and Publisher of Weathervane Enterprises, Inc., publishers of the Journal of Antiques & Collectibles, Guide to Brimfield, and Your Hometown Shopper. Maxine’s background is in market research and marketing communications, including 20 years in the cellular telephone industry, and the last 15 years as a marketing consultant for non-profits, schools, and youth organizations. Maxine and her husband, Jeffrey, moved to Charlton in 2014 from the Berkshires of Massachusetts.
Brenda Lacaire lives in North Brookfield, is married and has two children. She has worked at Steve’s Collision Center, a licensed auto damage appraiser, for more than 23 years and has owned the business for two years.
Blaine Schnare is the Director of Marketing for Harrington HealthCare System, a position she’s held for the past nine years. She is proficient in writing, social media, brand communication and media placement. Blaine graduated magna cum laude from Roger Williams University in 2005 with a BA in Communications. She lives in Charlton with her husband and 6-year-old son.
Laura L. Crosetti has the honor of serving as the Director of Marketing and Admissions for Christopher Heights Assisted Living of Webster. By trade, Laura is a licensed health care administrator in Connecticut and Rhode Island and has worked within the healthcare industry for over 28 years. In 2012, she became one of the original steering committee Tri-Chairs and also a Founder of the Northeast Connecticut Women and Girls Fund, which continues to raise awareness and funds for area non-profit organizations to support programs that empower local women and girls. She has served as Executive Producer for numerous theatrical productions in northeast Connecticut, raising over $700K for charitable organizations. Laura sits on the Board of the Putnam Commission on Aging and is a Corporator for Day Kimball Healthcare. Laura has been actively involved with Woman In Business since March of 2017.
Jennifer Jones is a wife, mother of 3 challenging and fun loving kids ranging from 3 to 15 years old, and a woman business owner. While she has been in the real estate business for 14 years, it was this January she decided to start her own brokerage. She has a passion for women business owners, as she started an online community of mama business owners over three years ago. What does she do for fun? Traveling and spending time with her family and girlfriends rank top on the “FUN LIST.” Jen is looking forward to giving and volunteering time to Woman In Business and the Scholarship Committee.
Jennifer Anderson is Vice President, Mortgage Loan Officer at Cornerstone Bank. She is a 30 year resident of Spencer with over 14 years banking experience with the bank. She has been providing the local community with customer service and lending services in many capacities over the years. Jennifer spends her spare time with her husband and two sons. She is active in the community and attends many chamber events. She has been an active member of Woman In Business for over four years.
Carol Porra attended her first Woman In Business breakfast meeting in January 1994 and has been an active member ever since. She was former President in 2011 and has served as an officer, board member, committee chair and committee member, most passionate about the annual scholarship awards the organization gives to local students.
