2020-21 Board of Directors

Jen Jones – President:

Jen is the Broker/Owner of Jones & Jones Realty, and the Founder and Master Connector of Connect & Elevate.

Jenny Anderson – Vice-President:

Jenny is currently WIB’s Secretary. During her tenure on the Board, Jenny has spearheaded our Festival of Giving Trees committee, the Dessert Buffet at our annual fundraiser, and this year is Chair of our Scholarship Committee. Jenny is also Vice President, Mortgage Loan Officer at Cornerstone Bank. She is a 30 year resident of Spencer with over 15 years banking experience. She has been providing the local community with customer service and lending services in many capacities over the years. Jennifer spends her spare time with her husband and two sons. She is active in the community, attends many chamber events, and serves on several committees at her local church.

Brenda Lacaire – Treasurer:

Brenda is the President/Owner of Steve’s Collision Center in Sturbridge, MA, and has been Treasurer of Woman In Business for the last three years.

Leila Hurt – Recording & Corresponding Secretary:

Leila Hurt recently moved to MA from Cheshire, CT where she worked as a Banker and Branch Manager for 23 years. She served on the board for The HART Foundation and was involved with The Hamden and New Haven Chambers of Commerce. Leila currently works for Country Bank as a Retail Banking Officer for the Charlton and Overlook locations and is a board member for The Central South MA Chamber. Leila resides in Brimfield with her husband and four children.


Maxine Carter-Lome – Maxine is the Owner/President of Weathervane Enterprises, Inc., publishers of Your Hometown Shopper, Journal of Antiques & Collectibles, and Brimfield Show Guides. She is also the past-president of Woman In Business.

Alex Keddy – Alexandrea (Alex) Keddy is the Retail Banking Officer of Country Bank in the Brimfield Office. Alexandrea has been with Country Bank for thirteen years. She is currently working towards her Associates Degree through Babson College and will be graduating this year. She has served as a Trustee for Hitchcock Academy in Brimfield, working with other Trustees to make decisions involving the establishment and serving on the Scholarship Committee.

Melissa Majorowski – Melissa lives in West Brookfield with her husband and son. In her free time Melissa enjoys cooking, crafting, and teaching people about tea. Melissa is also WIB’s resident photographer.

Jill Montague – Jill is a REALTOR® with Red Door Realty in Sturbridge. Her Real Estate career began in 2007 while working as a tour guide at a new active adult community housing development. That is where her passion for real estate grew. As a Realtor, Jill’s first priority is to make her clients happy. She earns their respect by working tirelessly on their behalf and by always offering them candid advice. Jill is also a graphic designer at Weathervane Enterprises, Inc., where she designs and creates ads for Your Hometown Shopper. In her free time, Jill enjoys cooking, gardening, designing, and most importantly spending time with her family.

Erica O’Brien – Erica is a licensed optician and owner of Studio 20/20, an independent retail optical shop located at the entrance of Old Sturbridge Village. She has worked in the industry since 2001 and in 2008 became a licensed optician in the state of Massachusetts. On a personal note, Erica lives just over the state line in CT with her husband, three sons, and three dogs. When not at Studio 20/20, you can find her at the sport’s field or gym watching one of her boys’ games. She also coaches youth soccer, and currently serves on the board for her youth soccer league.

Mary O’Coin – A Worcester native, Mary is the Executive Director for United Way of Southbridge, Sturbridge and Charlton (UWSSC) and in April 2020 facilitated the merger of UWSSC and United Way of Webster-Dudley and has now become the Executive Director of the newly formed United Way of South Central MA. Over the years she has also consistently volunteered for many local groups and organizations, such as the Sturbridge Cooperative Nursery School, Old Sturbridge Village (OSV), Burgess Elementary School, Tantasqua Education Foundation and the Tantasqua Music Association.

Carol Porra (BOARD MEMBER EMERITUS) – Carol has been a member of Woman In Business almost since its inception and has served multiple terms on the Board over the decades and remains actively involved welcoming new members at meetings, and supporting WIB’s annual Festival of Giving Trees effort and scholarship fundraiser in every way she can.
